Thought Leadership Summit by FICCI

As a part of the U.S. delegation, we were invited to participate in one of the most enriching Thought Leadership Summits of the year, #LEADS2022, by FICCI.

The 2-day event aimed at a consensus on leadership initiatives against the constantly changing business environment due to innovation or unforeseen events like the pandemic. The central theme was to prepare businesses and economies for the future and evolve with a shared vision of dynamic world order. Industry leaders and distinguished dignitaries deliberated on the need for companies to reinvent themselves and avail opportunities for future growth.

From the Founder's Desk

“The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence – it is to act with yesterday’s logic.”

– Peter Drucker

“LEADS 2022 was envisaged by FICCI as a platform for global leadership to form a shared vision of a new dynamic world order. The recent conference saw a confluence of global leaders and top industrialists at one stage. ‘Leadership with a Purpose’ is undoubtedly the need for the hour as it will drive future growth across economies and industries.

But how do you translate that vision or implement new ideas into everything you do. The perceptions of the leaders are often formed during times of transition and change. The recent pandemic has certainly taught us so. The pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities and loopholes in existing systems. There is a sense of urgency to improvise and innovate key business processes irrespective of the business industry.

The role of leadership is critical; to be at the forefront of innovation & change requires care, communication, and commitment. As a leader, if you understand your role and expectations, clarify your vision and hold yourself accountable throughout the change process, you can successfully navigate even the most disruptive change.”

Do you think Change Management is the most Important Leadership Skill?

“The rate of change is not going to slow down anytime soon. If anything, competition in most industries will probably speed up even more in the next few decades”.

– John P. Kotter

In the age of disruption, businesses live and die by their ability to adapt. Agility and adaptability have become the buzzwords to get to what businesses need to do – Innovate & change!

During times of change and transition, leaders must be accountable for what is working and what isn’t working. Being accountable means there is a desire and commitment to fix problems to get the best results. The best leaders are very self-aware and lead with introspection, not authority. They know that navigating change isn’t easy, and those who lead through it best are people who understand their power and use it to help others feel safe.
